Education Consultant - Educational Audiologist

This position, under the direction and supervision of the Wisconsin Educational Services Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (WESP-DHH) Outreach Director, provides statewide leadership and consultative services to local educational agencies (LEAs), families and other educational or private agencies, regarding the development, evaluation, coordination and improvement of services of auditory management and communication services for children with hearing loss. This position also provides leadership to educational teams that include educational audiologists, and function to assess and provide for the communication, curricular, and instructional needs of students with hearing loss. This position requires a high level of collaboration with other members of the WESP-DHH Team and the Department of Public Instruction. The primary focus of the position is the development, evaluation, coordination and improvement of school and community-based audiology services to support the listening, spoken language and communication skills of children with hearing loss.

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, a non-resident authorized to work in the U.S. without DPI sponsorship). DPI does not sponsor visas, either at time of hire or at any later time.
An American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI) rating level of at least a 1 upon completion of the one-year probationary period is required. If the person hired does not have an ASLPI rating level of 1 upon hire, the person will have the opportunity to attend training during work hours to learn American Sign Language.
A minimally qualified candidate must have experience:
? Providing school audiology services
? Managing auditory strategies
? Implementing special education federal and state regulations (including applying the Least Restrictive Environment in the Free and Appropriate Public Education) for deaf, hard-of-hearing, and/or deaf blind students
Highly qualified candidates will have experience: providing trainings, support groups, or workshops to various audiences (such as families, students, or professionals) who have hearing loss or who serve students with hearing loss; and, providing guidance to parents, educators or stakeholders regarding the educational needs of students with hearing loss.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
